Most buildings are suitable for conversion or renovation, but it may be a challenge to bring it up to modern day standards. Economising on energy costs and enhancing the U values will allow the building an extended lifespan, and using the most up to date building products will future proof it when it comes to any upgrades.

It may also be an option to adopt a hybrid strategy where the external façade is retained but the entire internals are gutted and built as new. We have used this strategy with homes that are poorly planned internally, or commercial premises that need to work more efficiently in their final solution.

Most of our projects will be refurbishment, and they can invariably be located with conservation areas or be listed buildings. We also work within permitted development rights and can advise on the best route forward when it comes to planning policy.
